About
Gsquash welcomes players of all ability levels, from beginner to A-grade level. Our twice weekly sessions attract a range of players and aim to improve everyone's game while having fun.
When and where we play
We meet twice a week at the Sydney University Sports and Acquatic Centre:
- Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 9:00
- Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30
To pay for the hire of the courts, we collect $12 from each player per session. We currently average around 12 players at each session.
Social activities
We sometimes go out for drinks or a meal after playing, typically at places within a short walk of the squash courts.
Team
Some of us play as a team in the Sydney Squash League. The team is currently in division A5, and you can check its progress here: http://www.squashmatrix.com/TeamResults.asp?TeamID=8686
Tournaments
In the past we have organised a squash tournament during Mardi Gras. Players have also participated in the 2002 Gay Games in Sydney, 2006 Out Games in Montreal and 2008 Asia Pacific OutGames in Melbourne.
Group history
The group has been running for over 15 years, in a variety of different formats and at different locations. We have been playing at the Sydney Uni courts since 2001.
